Agri-footprint® Performance Report shows why your product is a front runner in the field of sustainability. The report illustrates the environmental performance of a specific product, based on the Agri-footprint® methodology and database. One of the features of the Performance Report is the clear and visual presentation of (complex) information, which makes the information for instance accessible for your customers. The full Life Cycle Inventory is published in the Agri-footprint® database and the Life Cycle Impact Assessment can be reproduced using SimaPro.
Agri-footprint® Performance Report - Meatless
About MeatlessMeatless is a pioneer and front runner in the field of hybrid products. Meatless is a flake made from 100% plant-based raw materials, such as wheat, lupine, rice and tapioca and is available as a hydrated and as a dehydrated product. Meatless can be combined with animal-based raw materials, to create so called hybrid products.
Environmental performance of MeatlessAgri-footprint® Performance report gives insight in the environmental performance of Meatless (products) compared with meat. Meatless reduces the impact on climate change by 13-19%, depending on the type of product in to which Meatless is incorporated. Meatless also reduces the impact on fossil depletion, water depletion and agricultural land occupation. The results are summarized in the infographic.
- Meatless reduces the environmental impact of meat. Meatless products make a significant contribution to reducing climate change, fossil depletion and agricultural land use, without the difficulty of having to change the consumers diet.
- Hybrid products based on Meatless have a lower environmental impact on climate change, agricultural land occupation and fossil depletion than meat.
- However, the impact on water depletion is higher for Meatless made from rice than Meatless made from wheat or tapioca. Reason is water consumption during the cultivation of rice.
Agri-footprint® Performance Report - HumVi
About HumViHumVi is a product of humic and fulvic acids derived from drinking water. Humic and fulvic acids are the main component of humic substances, which are primarily subtracted from any well-decomposed organic material, such as leonardite (brown coal) or composts. HumVi is the first product known, whereby the humic and fulvic acids are purified from drinking water. Using HumVi as growth-promoting agent in animal nutrition can be beneficial for animal production.
Adding 1.5% HumVi in the feed for piglet production highly reduces the impact of piglet production on climate change, freshwater eutrophication, agricultural land use and water depletion.
Some highlightsUsing HumVi in the feed for production of piglets reduces the impact on climate change by 6.0% compared to regular piglet production. Water depletion is reduced by 6.2%, while freshwater eutrophication and agricultural land occupation are reduced by approximately 5.5%.
